Turtles - Let's save the day!

Last time we discussed how our precious sea turtles are in danger. This time you get to know how you can make a difference with small, everyday actions. Let's dive into some simple ways you can help save turtles and protect our oceans.

1) Skip the Straw, Save a Turtle:

One of the easiest changes you can make is saying no to plastic straws. Opt for reusable or paper alternatives when enjoying your favourite drinks. This small switch can prevent these harmful items from ending up in the ocean and harming marine life, including turtles.

2) Be a Beach Cleanup Hero:

Spend a day at the beach? Take a few extra minutes to pick up any litter you find. Items like plastic bags and discarded packaging can be dangerous for turtles if ingested. By keeping our beaches clean, you're creating a safer environment for these incredible creatures.


3) Respect Their Space:

Keep a respectful distance if you encounter turtles in the wild, whether on the beach or in the water. Avoid disrupting nesting sites and be mindful of their natural behaviour. Observing from afar ensures you enjoy these beautiful creatures without causing them stress.

4) Choose Sustainable Seafood:

Make informed choices about the seafood you consume. Support sustainable fishing practices that minimise harm to marine life, including turtles. By making responsible seafood choices, you contribute to the conservation of ocean ecosystems.


Saving turtles doesn't always require grand gestures. Simple, everyday actions can add up to make a significant impact. By adopting these practices, you become a crucial part of the movement to protect turtles and preserve the beauty of our oceans. Let's work together to ensure these magnificent creatures continue to thrive in their natural homes.

Turtles - Dangers

 A turtle has to face many difficulties in its life.  Somethings, like predators, can't be helped. They are natural. However there are some things that can be helped. For example, pollution, climate change, and so on.  Pollution Sea turtles are vulnerable to ocean pollution at all stages of life, from eggs to hatchlings to juveniles to adults. The toxic metals may concentrate in the liver and the kidney of the turtles. This can harm them greatly. Pollutants may cause immediate harm to sea turtles through direct contact or can also build up in tissues over time and lead to immunosuppression resulting in disease and death.  Degradation of sea turtle habitat from pollution also poses a threat and can occur over large areas. The Realm of Whales

In a huge ocean, whales are one of the biggest animals to be found.  There are many types of whales. For example: Blue whales, Humpback whale, Grey whale, and so many more. Let's explore the world of Blue whales and False Killer whales.  Blue Whales Blue whales are the largest animal to ever exist. They reach maximum lengths of 110 (33.5 m) feet and weights of 330,000 pounds (150 metric tons).  They are friendly and don't attack humans. They feed almost exclusively on krill-small shrimp-like crustaceans that grow to about 6 centimeters.  Blue Whales can live for 80 to 90 years on average. To date, the only known natural predator of the blue whale is the orca. However, despite this, currently the best scientific estimates for the blue whale population are between 10,000 and 25,000 globally.
