 A turtle has to face many difficulties in its life.  Somethings, like predators, can't be helped. They are natural. However there are some things that can be helped. For example, pollution, climate change, and so on.  Pollution Sea turtles are vulnerable to ocean pollution at all stages of life, from eggs to hatchlings to juveniles to adults. The toxic metals may concentrate in the liver and the kidney of the turtles. This can harm them greatly. Pollutants may cause immediate harm to sea turtles through direct contact or can also build up in tissues over time and lead to immunosuppression resulting in disease and death.  Degradation of sea turtle habitat from pollution also poses a threat and can occur over large areas. Sea turtle habitats overlap with areas most likely to be affected by offshore oil exploration and production.  Oil from spills offshore also washes up on beaches where it degrades nesting habitat, and can impact nests, nesting females, and hatch...

What do you know about turtles? The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about turtles is that they are quite slow.  While this is true, did you know they are quite fast in water? Oceanic turtles move awkwardly on land as their bodies are not built for speed, however, in water they move steadily along with strong, wing-like strokes of their huge flippers.  Turtles can be huge. Moreover, there are many different types of them.  Some of the different types of turtles are sea turtles, tortoises, pond turtles, and so on. Out of all of the types, only seven of them are species of marine turtles.  Most turtles are brownish-grey, caramel-coloured, grey, tan or dark brown.  Last week, we talked about how dolphins are in danger. Today, we will discuss how we can save these enthralling creatures.  1) SAY NO TO PLASTIC!  We can't ban plastic completely, because it's everywhere! However, we can reduce the amount of plastic being used. You only have to minimise the use of plastic bags and other plastic products. These products don't directly impact us but once in the ocean, the same plastic is equivalent to poison to dolphins or any marine animal. If they ingest it, it causes them to either be heavily injured or dead.  Instead, use natural or biodegradable products to cause less harm to dolphins and the ocean. For example, the next time you go to a cafe to get coffee. Take your own reusable coffee cup instead of the one they offer.  2) Leave dolphins alone One of the simplest ways to keep dolphins or any other animals safe is to leave them be.
